The client
Fay Wallis is a career and executive coach who runs Bright Sky Career Coaching, where she helps HR professionals to have successful and fulfilling careers.
The sticking point
One of Fay’s goals for the year was to make her onboarding process as seamless and professional as possible for her clients. It felt overwhelming to tackle on her own; especially figuring out how to automate parts of the process without her clients losing the feeling of ‘the personal touch’. She wasn’t sure how to best leverage technology to help her, so she kept putting it off. This is why she knew that the support and accountability of a Focus Day was going to help her.
Getting clarity and strengthening the onboarding process
We began our virtual day together on Voxer chatting about what she wanted her onboarding process to look like, and what she was struggling with.
Then I mapped out a clearer process for her, before we prioritised which tasks she would tackle with my support. I was there to keep her focused, to answer questions on tech and clarity of language and to help with anything else she got stuck with.
We prioritised 3 areas that were most helpful to focus on improving for her:
- Strengthening her contact form, so she could easily understand what potential clients were looking for and could respond quickly and easily.
- Deciding the best way for her to invoice and contract corporate clients vs. non-corporate clients.
- Setting up her business partner with access to her appointment booking software.
One happy client
Fay was so happy with her Focus Day that she booked another one straight away to clarify and strengthen her offboarding process too!
At the end of the day she said:
“I can’t believe just how good it’s been to have a fresh pair of eyes listen to my rambles and make sense of them and then make such practical, brilliant suggestions for moving forward. And the accountability has just been fantastic.”
If you’re interested in getting yourself a clearer and stronger onboarding process, then a Focus Day may be right up your street.
